ABOUT ME
Welcome to my site, Buddha Bellies. My name is Dale Shubert and I am a certified Childbirth Educator and professional artist living in Wichita, Kansas. I hold a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Colorado as well as a bachelor's in art from Newman University and am a member of the Association of Lifecasters International.
Working over the past decade as a certified Childbirth Educator for a local hospital, I have become very invested in preparing moms-to-be and their partners for the beautiful process of childbirth. My art is an extension of my interest in this journey.
As a mother of two myself, I want to help women secure a timeless, one-of-a-kind keepsake to remember this part of their lives. Although it can seem to be an endless process over nine months, it all passes so quickly. Moms' bodies change with the life they are creating and each shape is unique and beautiful. It is like working on a 'living' canvas. Not only do I get to produce each woman's individual form, but I also get to finalize the feeling and the meaning that her pregnancy held for her through imagery and color. In the end, she has a true piece of artwork that she makes possible through her pregnant form.
Pictures are great, but this is the real thing for moms...the exact physical impression of their pregnancy. You can't capture that transformation any other way than with a casting........ and that's special.
